Summary of sounds:

Boom by: Colin Porter
The sound is of me hitting the inside of a dumpster. It is suppose to be a door shutting on an Alien spacecraft.

The Hive by: Colin Porter
The object that created this sound is a fan on the out side of a building. Aliens flying back to their home base.

Alien Weapon Firing by: Colin Porter
The object that I used was stepping on a broken glass bottle. The point of this sound was supposed to be an Alien firing a gun.

Alien Fleet by: Brett Maszczak
I created this sound by standing near Court Street with a shotgun microphone. Cars passed by while I was doing this. I edited the sound with Audacity. The sound is supposed to be a fleet of alien ships flying by.

Alien Larvae Hatching by: Brett Maszczak
This sound was made with a shotgun microphone. I found a stream of water falling onto a plastic bottle in an alley. I edited the sound with audacity. The sound is aliens hatching from their eggs in massive quantities.

Small Saucer Hovering by: Brett Maszczak
This sound was created from water running into a street grate. I added a lot of effects in audacity. The sound is supposed to be a small alien ship hovering over the ground.

Pressure Release by: Joe Cox
This sound was made with a pre-shaken two-liter bottle of Coke, recorded with a Tascam and edited in Ableton Live 9 with several effects added. The sound effect is supposed to represent either an automatic door opening, or pressure releasing from an airlock.

Space Thruster by: Joe Cox
This sound was also made with a two-liter bottle of Coke, it was also recorded with a Tascam and edited in Ableton Live 9 – using Izotope for mastering. The sound effect is supposed to represent a spaceship’s thrusters.

Walking in an Empty Hallway by: Joe Cox
Walking in an Empty Hallway was made by smacking half of an orange on cutting board - the sound effect is supposed to be an alien walking through an empty hallway.

Asteroid Scan by: Mark Phillips
The first sound effect was made by pushing in a Dr. Pepper pop can and then popping it back out.  After I made that first initial noise, I went into Garage Band and limited it to a G minor key, which distorted the sound a lot.  I then used an effect called Overdrive where I darkened the tone and bumped up the overdrive.  I then repeated the sound a few times giving it the rhythm.  I like to think of this as the sound a sonar on a spaceship would make.  Scanning the nearby vastness of space for enemy ships or asteroids.

Teleporter by: Mark Phillips
For my second sound effect, I hit a Doctor Pepper can partly filled with water.  It made this really cool sound and you could hear the water moving.  I too that, then went into Garage Band where I limited it to B minor, brought the pitch down to -12, added a Phaser effect.  In the Phaser effect I pushed the intensity and feedback as far up as it would go.  I think this effect would be used as a sound of a teleporter teleporting somebody from a spaceship to a nearby planet.

Fluids by: Mark Phillips
For the third effect, I recorded myself making a water drop sound with my mouth and then took that in Garage Band and added overdrive, speech enhancer and flanger.  I then took the sound that was created from this and repeated it several times to achieve the effect.  I think this could be used as a sound that some fluid makes when it hits the ground.
